Barbara Lou Clayton

Barbara Lou Clayton, age 72, fulfilled God’s wishes on earth on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. She leaves behind her daughter, Denise (Rich) Haas of Parker, Colorado, two granddaughters, Maegan (Matt) Woytek and Alexis (Jered) Beeman, a brother Larry (RuLayne) Derrickson, a half-sister Kerri (Tim) Wetovick and step-mother Marcella Derrickson, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many others that she called family throughout her lifetime.

Barbara grew up in Earlham, Iowa and also spent time in Minnesota, Utah and Texas. It was while she was in Texas that she and her husband, Roger Clayton, decided they wanted to see more of the country so she retired from being a medical transcriptionist and went on the road long-haul trucking for 20 years. She and Roger settled back in Iowa before his passing in 2003. Barbara eventually moved to Colorado in 2012 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She loved serving her community through church, cooking or social events and she loved spending time with her family.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 27th at the First Presbyterian Church in Earlham. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. and continue until the time of the service at the Church. Burial will be at the Earlham Cemetery. Luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the services.
