Mary Cook, 91, of Winterset, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Collins Funeral Chapel (Caldwell-Parrish Funeral Home) in Winterset with Rev. Dr. John Shaull officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery at St. Charles, Iowa.

Mary was born on August 15, 1926, at Ottawa, Kansas to Byron and Eva (Leger) Welch. She was married on April 15, 1943 at Bethany, Missouri, to Herbert Cook. She has lived the past 60 years in Madison County and spent her life being a homemaker. 

Mary is survived by her sons, Amos (Teresa) Cook of Ennis, Montana and James Cook of Winterset; grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Cook, Crystal (Mike) Wood, Roger (Anne) Cook, and Kevin (Michelle) Cook; and great grandchildren, Trenten, Chase, Jensen, Aidan, William, Rebekah, Abby, and Emilie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Eva (Leger) Welch; husband, Herbert Cook; brother, Joseph Welch; and sister, Margaret Akin.

Family will greet friends 1 hour prior to service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials will be directed to her family for a future designation.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Collins Funeral Chapel (Caldwell-Parrish Funeral Home) in Winterset.
