Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 18, from the Rippey United Methodist Church for Raymond T. Temple, 69, town councilman and long-time resident of the Rippey community.
The Rev. Edward L. Sullivan, minister of the church, officiated. Mrs. J. J. Peters was organist.
Casket bearers were Don Anschutz, Glen Crow, Dale Morse, Walter Anderson, Donald Coon and Myron Rinker. Interment was in Rippey Cemetery.
Raymond Theodore Temple was born Aug. 26, 1901, in Madison county, Iowa, and passed away at his home in Rippey on Nov. 15, 1970, at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 19 days.
He came to Greene county at the age of seven. Ray was raised near Dana and attended schools there.
He was married on Aug. 4, 1923, at Boone to Helen Genevieve Hobbs. The couple lived in Gowrie, Paton, Dana, Lehigh and since 1933 in Rippey, where Ray has been with Fry Motor Company for 37 years.
He was currently serving his second term on the Rippey town council and was also a member of the Elmo Lodge No. 463 A.F. & A.M. of which he was past master.
Mr. Temple is survived by his wife, Helen, his two daughters, Lila Genevieve (Mrs. Darwin Johnston) of Grand Junction and Lillian Rae (Mrs. Warren Knight) of Carroll, five grandchildren, Ned Raymond Johnston and Teddie Jay Johnston, both at home, Connie Knight Fontanini of Des Moines, Debbi J. Knight and Paula Rae Knight, both at home, one great-grandson, Bobby Fontanini Jr., two half-sisters, Mrs. Bill (Erma) Dorsey of Sedra Wooley, WA, and Mrs. Juanita Lodge of Kennewic, WA; one half-brother, Earnest Earney of North Platte, NE, three aunts, Mrs. Otis (Elizabeth) Johnson and Josie Norris, both of Paton, and Mrs. Florence Temple of Jefferson.
