Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home for John A. Creger, 78, of 3311 School St., who died Wednesday at home of a heart ailment. Burial will be at Rising Sun Cemetery.
Born in Madison County, Mr. Creger lived in Des Moines over 30 years and was a custodian and bus driver for the West Des Moines schools. He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses Walnut Creek Congregation.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne; two sons, Don of Eugene, Ore., and John of Casper, Wyo.; five daughters, Joan Mowdy and Betty Lou Stull, both of Eugene, Jean Fedler of Iowa City, Marion Miller of Des Moines and Marcy Gifford of Cumming; two stepsons, Glenn Michael of Corvallis, Ore., and Mark Michael of Minneapolis, Minn.; three stepdaughters, Val Michael of Newton, Annette Songer of Fort Worth, Texas, and Rene Michael of Bellingham, Wash.; 24 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
