Shirley Wildin, Winterset

Shirley Jean Wildin, 90, of Winterset died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at her winter home in Sun City, Ariz.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Shirley was born March 11, 1927, and spent most of her life in Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lillian Potter; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Darrel; sons, Douglas (Paula) and Gary (Beth); daughter, Charlotte (Butch) Gordon and Jill Alles; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Shirley Wildin, Winterset

Shirley Wildin, 90, of Winterset passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, in Sun City, Ariz.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, at Patterson United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Montpelier Cemetery near Patterson. Memorials may be directed to the Patterson United Methodist Church.

Shirley Jean Wildin, daughter of Roy and Lillian (Yoder) Potter, was born March 11, 1927, in West Des Moines. She attended school in the Patterson area. Shirley was united in marriage with Darrel Wayne Wildin on Aug. 20, 1942, in Bethany, Mo. Shirley was a farm wife who was always busy helping on the farm. She was a member of the Patterson Methodist Church and their Women’s Group. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau Women, Republican Women and was a past 4-H Leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Doris Ray; two brothers, Dale Potter and Jack Potter; a granddaughter, Michelle Carley; and a great grandson, Anthony Gordon.

She is survived by her husband, Darrel Wildin of Winterset; four children, Douglas (Paula) Wildin of Sun City West, Ariz., Gary (Beth) Wildin of Sun City, Ariz., Charlotte (Norman) Gordon of Winterset and Jill Alles of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other family members and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service.
