Page 7, Column 5Homer Clydell, eldest child of Leonard Lee and Frances Izora DeLong was born in Madison county, Iowa, Feb. 15, 1873 and passed away Sept. 30, 1939, at his home in Alberta, Canada at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 15 days. He had been in failing health with heart trouble for a long period of time, but he bore his suffering with patience. All that loving hands and medical skill could do was of no avail and he sweetly fell asleep to await the awakening in life’s glorious morning.
The greater part of his early life was spent in Clarke county, Iowa. In March 1913 he moved to Alberta, Canada where he has since made his home.
He was united in marriage to Ella Sinn of Truro, March 12, 1894 and this union was blessed with the following children: Arlie L. of Osceola; Elsie who died at the age of 2 years; Aletha, Leland, Audrey and Virgil of Alberta, Canada and Dorothy who died in 1929 at the age of 15 years.
He also leaves to mourn his passing besides the above mentioned children, his devoted wife and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Proctor and Mrs. Sylvia Hart, both of Osceola, Iowa and a host of relatives and friends.
His father, mother, brother Roy and three sisters, Bell, Susan and Nellie preceded him in death.
“A precious one from us is gone, a voice we loved is stilled, a place is vacant in our home that never can be filled.”
Funeral services were conducted by his pastor in the United church in Innisfall, Alberta, Canada on Tuesday, October 3. The following neighbors of the deceased served as pall bearers: John Conn, Frank Miller, William Anderson, Edd Anderson, William Lewis and Dave Pierson.
Interment was made in the family lot at the Innisfall cemetery.
