Walter W. Cornelison, 89, died in the Clarke County Public Hospital on Tuesday, August 22. Services will be held Friday, August 25, from the Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Roy Ives officiating in the 2 p.m. rites. Interment will be in the Murray Cemetery.

Walter W. Cornelison was born September 6, 1888, in Madison County, Iowa, son of Jasper Cornelison and Jennie Carter Cornelison. He attended schools in Madison County and on November 18, 1914, was married to Gertie Osborn in Madison County. Three children were born to this union.

He worked as a county maintenance man for Clarke County for many years.

Survivors include daughter Helen Reynolds and husband, Frank of Osceola, son, Waldo Cornelison and wife, Ruth of Davenport, daughter, Violet North and husband, Brice of Osceola, eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two half brothers, Elmer Cornelison and Everett Cornelison and four half-sisters, Della, Nellie, Lena and Wanda.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gertie in 1969, two half-brothers and two half-sisters.
