Gladys Evelyn, daughter of Hale and Nina Sloan, was born in February 12, 1928 at St. Charles, Iowa, and passed away at Truro, Iowa, July 9, 1928. These loving parents knew that from birth that their daughter could not live because of a physical disability which could not be cured, but all through her short life everything that loving hands could do was done.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 on Tuesday afternoon, July 10th at Bethel Chapel, conducted by Rev. F. G. Barnes of St. Charles. Interment was made in Bethel Chapel cemetery.
