Saturday morning at 1:00 o’clock Hal P. Ammons, son of W. H. Ammons, died, and Mrs. Ammons died in the afternoon of the same day. The former was taken to Elliott, Iowa, for burial, where the remains of his mother are interred.
Mrs. Ammons was buried at Newton, her former home. Funeral services were held here.
Hal P. Ammons was born July 28, 1882, at Elliott, Iowa. He has been sick with consumption about a year.
Mrs. Hulda B. Ammons was born in Freeport, Illinois, February 15, 1872. She was united in marriage to W. H. Ammons April 8, 1895. She leaves besides her husband and three step-sons, a little daughter six years old. The family formerly lived in Penn township, Madison county, and at Dexter. They came to this city about two years ago from the latter place. The family has been sorely afflicted for several months, which has called forth the deepest sympathy of our people. Mr. Ammons’ business has been completely broken up of the sickness of the wife and son.
