Kale—Alfred Kale died at his home in Claytonville, Thursday, April 11, after a five months illness, at the age of 73 years, two months and 14 days. Mr. Kale had lived in Brown county 23 years. He was an old soldier.

The funeral was held at the home Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Mr. McBride, of Willis. The Willis double quartet sang. Burial was made in the Claytonville cemetery. The body bearers were: Geo. Seaman, John Gregg, Henry Chase, John Waltham, Allam Murphy and H. P. Schafer.

Beside a wife he leaves eight children: Wm. Kale, of Hennessey, Okla., Evans Kale, of Truro, Iowa, Thos. Kale, of Des Moines, Iowa, J. G. Kale and Frank Kale, Miss Nettie Kale and Mrs. Maude Sinclair, of Hiawatha, and Mrs. Evelyn Hampton, of Wetmore.
