Funeral services were held Sunday, March 13, 1977 for William Doyle Roby, of Truro, Iowa who died Friday, March 11 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Rev. David Wagner of Truro conducted the 2:00 p.m. service from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro, Iowa with interment in the New Virginia Cemetery in New Virginia, Iowa.
William Doyle Roby, 80, was born in Truro, Iowa, October 20, 1896, the son of Albert Evan and Effie Johnson Roby. He attended the Truro schools and July 15, 1918 was united in marriage to Wilma Hurst in Chicago, Illinois. Two sons were born to this union. May 20, 1968 he was united in marriage to Wylma Frazier. He had been an employee of the Natural Gas Pipeline Co. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Ivy Lodge 483 FMAM and was affiliated with the Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wylma of Truro: sons Don Roby of Des Moines; Robert Roby of San Bruno, California; seven grandchildren; one step-son, Gaylen Frazier of Falcon Heights, Minnesota and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Wilma.

William Doyle Roby, a native of Truro, died Friday, March 11, 1977, at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He was born October 20, 1896, the son of Albert Evan and Effie Johnson Roby.
Educated in the Truro schools. Mr. Roby was married to Wilma Hurst at Chicago, Illinois, on July 6, 1918. The couple had two children. She preceded him in death.
On May 20, 1968, Mr. Roby was married to Wylma Frazier at Truro. He was employed as an auxiliary engineer with the Natural Gas Pipeline Company at Truro.
Mr. Roby was a member of Ivy Lodge 483 A.F. and A.M. at Truro and Truro First Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Wylma, of Truro; two sons, Donald Roby of Des Moines and Robert Roby of San Bruno, Calif.; seven grandchildren; a step-son, Gaylen Frazier of Falcon Heights, Minn., and two step-grandchildren.
Mr. Roby was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents and a sister.
Funeral services for W. D. Roby were conducted Sunday, March 13, at 2 p.m. from Kale Funeral Home in Truro with burial in the New Virginia Cemetery. Rev. David Wagner of Truro officiated.
