Joyce L. Von Rentzell, age 77, of Earlham, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
She is survived by her sons, Tom of Earlham, Dave (Pam) of Van Meter, and Terry of Earlham; andd six granddaughters, Kayleigh, Taylor, McKaila, McKenna, McKenzie and Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dean; and siblings, Randall Perry, Karen Schleiffarth, and Bethol Perry in infancy.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with Funeral services 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Earlham. Burial will be in the Earlham Cemetery.

Joyce von Rentzell, 77, of Earlham died suddenly Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 25, at the First Presbyterian Chuch in Earlham, with burial in the Earlham Cemetery.
Joyce LaVonne, the daughter of Luther Tom and Aleta Marie (Lewis) Perry, was born on Sept. 3, 1939, in Harrison Township, Adair County, Iowa. Joyce grew up in Greenfield and graduated with the class of 1957. On June 7, 1958, Joyce married her husband, Albert Dean von Rentzell at the Ernest Kirlin Home in Newton; to this union they had three sons. Together they made their home in Earlhaam. Joyce worked in the Group Pension Department at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines for 27 years, retiring in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean; and siblings, Randall Perry, Karen Schleiffarth, and Bethol Perry in infancy.
She is survive by her sons, Tom of Earlham, Dave (Pam) of Van Meter and Terry of Earlham, and six granddaughters.
Arrangements are being handled by O'Leary Funerals.

Visitation was held Friday, August 25 with funeral services held on Saturday, August 26 at the First Presbyterian Church in Earlham. Burial was in the Earlham Cemetery. Oleary Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Joyce Lavonne, the daughter of Luther Tom and Aleta Marie (Lewis) Perry, was born on September 3, 1939 in Harrison Township, Adair County, Iowa. Joyce grew up in Greenfield, Iowa and graduated from high school there with the Class of 1957.
On June 7, 1958 Joyce married her husband, Albert Dean von Rentzell at the Ernest Kirlin Home in Newton, Iowa. To this union they had three sons, Tom, David and Terry. Together they made their home in Earlham, Iowa.
Joyce worked in the Group Pension Department at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines for 27 years, retiring in 2001. Following retirement she enjoyed genealogy, crocheting, and going to the casinos. Joyce was also an avid football fan watching the Iowa State Cyclones, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
She is survived by her sons, Tom of Earlham, Dave (Pam) of Van Meter, and Terry of Earlham; and six granddaughters, Kayleigh, Taylor, McKaila, McKenna, McKenzie and Shelby. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean, on June 27, 2010; and siblings, Randall Perry, Karen Schleiffarth, and Bethol Perry in infancy.
