Mrs. Freeman’s Rites Tuesday

Services for Mrs. Emma Freeman, 74, of 4819 Brennan drive, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home with burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman died of cancer Friday at home. Born in Madison county, she had lived in Des Moines 27 years, coming here from Colfax.

Surviving are her husband, William; six daughters, Mrs. Maude Atwood, Mrs. Laura Brewster, Mrs. Ruth Fry, Mrs. Hester Maxwell, Mrs. Dorothy Kelly and Madge Freeman, all of Des Moines; and three sons, Roy of Hammond, Ind., George of Lansing, Ill., and Fred of Gold Hill, Ore.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. John Taylor and Mrs. Henry Richardson of Winterset and Mrs. Ollie Palmer, Earlham; a brother, Oscar Shaver, Winterset; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
