L. P. SIDENER SERVICES SET

Pioneer Iowan to Be Buried Monday.

Services for Lamar P. Sidener, 78, of 600 Wall st., will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lilly’s Funeral home. Mr. Sidener was a pioneer Iowan.

Coming to Iowa from Ohio in a covered wagon more than 71 years ago, Mr. Sidener and his parents made their home on the prairie in Madison county for many years. He came to Des Moines in 1887. Until his retirement several years ago, he was a clothing and shoe salesman.

Mr. Sidener is survived by his wife; a son, Jack; and two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve E. Carter and Mrs. Ethel M. Iloff, all of Des Moines. He also is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Dell Dawson, Mrs. Daisy Johns and Mrs. Lily Campbell, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Angie Sommers, Ava, Mo.; and three brothers, Arthur of Des Moines, Fred of Hollywood, Cal., and Lawrence of Sacramento, Cal.

Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery. Six grandsons will be pallbearers. Mr. Sidener died Friday at Broadlawns General hospital of complications resulting from heart disease.
