Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Gracey were held at the Webster Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Frank Jacobs in charge. She passed away last Wednesday at the age of 79 years.

Alice Margaret Gray, daughter of George and Isabella Gray, was born at Eagleville, Missouri, July 6, 1864 and passed away June 23, 1943 at the age of 79 years. Death came following a long illness which has lasted for about three years.

When she was 10 years old she moved with her family to Madison county, Iowa. She spent almost all of the first half of her life in Madison county with the exception of a few years in Des Moines. For the last 35 or 40 years she has lived in Osceola.

In 1881 she was united in marriage to George Gracey. Mr. Gracey preceded her in death, passing away in 1922. To this union nine children were born. Two of her children preceded her in death, Ralph and James Gracey.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Will Mumper of Osceola; Mrs. Fred Knight of Des Moines; Edwin Gracey of Broken Bow, Nebraska; Miss Sylvia Gracey of Des Moines; Leonard Gracey of the U. S. Navy now stationed at San Diego, California; Mrs. Goeldy Stout of Osceola and Clarence Gracey of Sacramento, California. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Emma Sandy and Mrs. June Masters of Des Moines and Miss Stella Gray of Denver, Colo.
