GLADYS ROACH OF CUMMING DIES

Mrs. Gladys J. Roach of Cumming, a long-time resident of Lee township, died Friday, Nov. 14, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 77 years of age.

Mrs. Roach was a native of Indianola, where she was born March 26, 1892, a daughter of Frank O. and Mahala Arnold Morris. She was married at Truro on Feb. 11, 1920, to Harry D. Roach. His death occurred in 1929.

She was a member of the Community church at Cumming, and was active in the Ladies Aid. She was affiliated with the American Legion auxiliary at Cumming, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary at Winterset.

Surviving are a son, Harlan Roach of Cumming, two daughters, Mrs. Belle Hircock of Winterset and Mrs. Ione Lenall of Booneville, four grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Vern E. Morris and Ted Morris of California and Arthur Morris of Lake City; and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Eisenhower of San Marcos, Calif., and Mrs. Belle Rose of Pomona, Calif. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Community church at Cumming, conducted by the Rev. James Whittaker of Cumming and the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur of Winterset. Burial was made in Pleasant Ridge cemetery at Orilla.
