OLIVE MARIE COMPTON

Olive Marie Compton, daughter of Eli and Anna Jane Compton, was born on a farm in Union township Iowa April 7th, 1872, and departed this life, May 13th 1956, at the age of 84 years, one month and six days

She was a birthright member of the Bear Creek Friends church and enjoyed attending worship services as long as her health permitted.

She was united in marriage to Clyde M. Barnett (sic) February 2, 1902 and to this union was born a daughter, Verle Keller of Adel, and a son, Carroll, of Earlham.

Hers was a life of service and her home was a haven for many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was able to see the beauty of all nature and enjoyed and spent many hours with her flowers. Her affliction of being an invalid for 3 1/2 years was borne patiently and cheerfully. She was one of seven children, four of whom have preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her two children, five grandchildren and one great grandchild, also two sisters, Sydna Day of Earlham and Harriett Stubbs of Mason City, many nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
