Sharon J. Cleaver passed peacefully at home on Monday, March 20, 2017. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 pm, Friday, March 24, 2017 at Brooks South Town Chapel:7601 Fleur Dr., Des Moines. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home chapel.
Sharon was born to Harold "Heavy" and Lola (Bradshaw) Smith on June 11, 1946; and grew up in Winterset, IA. On December 28, 1969, she married Elmer D. Cleaver. Sharon loved watching college basketball, cooking, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind and loving nature, incredible sense of humor, for being a strong Christian woman and prayer warrior.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her husband of 47 years: Elmer; children: Kimberely (Fred) Hof, Sheila (Federico) Fierro, Erica Cleaver; grandchildren: Kristina, Matthew, Cody, and Brandon Hof and Brianna Fierro; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Dean Smith and Shirley Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family.
