Eldy Reinmuth, 51, resident of the Macksburg, Dexter and Redfield communities, passed away July 31 at Veterans hospital after a two months illness. At the time of his death Mr. Reinmuth was serving as the commander of the Redfield Legion Post No. 261. He had served in the air force in England during World War II.

After moving from Dexter to Redfield in 1948, Mr. Reinmuth worked at Solar Aircraft in Des Moines, then the Redfield Brick & Tile Co.

His father, Chester Reinmuth, lives at Dexter. A sister, Mrs. Phyliss Reinmuth Love, is a resident of Earlham.

Services held Wednesday at the Redfield Methodist church were conducted by Rev. Larry McGranaghan with assistance of the American Legion Post No. 261.

Vocalists were Bonnie Madren and Donna Cotton, accompanied by Vyrlee Godwin. Anna Harvey and Ruby Marlenee took care of flowers. Casket bearers were Irwin Borcherding, Robert Baker, Burl Burnham, Marvin Sloan, Scotty Thompson and Orman Nelson. Burial was at Wiscotta cemetery.

Eldy Verle Reinmuth, son of Chester and Mable Reinmuth, was born April 23, 1914, at Dalton, Nebraska, and departed this life at the Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, on July 31, 1965.

Eldy attended school at Macksburg and served in the armed forces in World War II, in the Air Force.

He then moved to Dexter, making a home for his father and mother. In 1950, they moved to Redfield, where he purchased a home.

Eldy was a member of the Redfield Legion Post 261, and the Dexter IOOF 215. He was very active in both organizations and enjoyed very much taking part in the activities.

He was united in marriage to Sylvia Bainter on August 15, 1959. He is survived by his wife Sylvia, his father, Chester of Dexter, one sister, Phyllis Love of Earlham, one brother, Ivan of Omaha, Nebraska, four nephews, two nieces, five step-children and thirteen step-grandchildren.

Eldy was a good worker and a friend of many and will be missed by all.
