Mrs. Jesse (Emma Florence) Walker passed away on Nov. 3, at her home in Adel, at the age of 73 years. A lifelong resident of Dallas County, she was widely known and respected by all.
Services were held at the Adel Christian Church, Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ray Barnett officiating. Ricard Ehrhardt was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Mary Crase. Mrs. Bryce Chapman and Mrs. Walter Walston assisted with the flowers. Casket bearers were Richard Leeper, Darrell Daugherty, Marvelle Hollett, Dick Stacy, Lee Burkead and Dean Coffin.
Mrs. Walker was a graduate of Redfield High School and the Earlham Academy and she taught school for some time. She was a member of the Redfield Christian Church and was formerly active in the Rebekah Lodge in Redfield and Adel.
In 1902 she was united in marriage to William Cronk and four children were born. Mr. Cronk died during the flu epidemic of 1918. She married Jesse Walker in 1924.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse; four children, Richard and Max of California; Vere and Mrs. Grace Eakle, both of Adel. Also two step-children, Jasper and Mrs. Mary Rowe of California as well as six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
