TWO DEATHS IN LENOCKER FAMILY

Death Only Day Apart. Double Funeral at Dexter, Monday

Double sorrow came to the Lenocker family last week in the death of two members of that estimable family; the wife of Jacob Lenocker died last Thursday, and the following day, G. F. Lenocker died. The father and son both lived in Dexter at the time of death, but both were claimed as Madison county people, because the largest part of their busy and useful lives were spent in Penn township. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church in Dexter last Monday and both were buried at the same time at the Dexter cemetery.

Mrs. Jacob Lenocker, whose death occurred on the 12th, was a daughter of Wm. T. Moore, also a former resident of Penn township. For several years after the elder Lenocker removed to Dexter, the son, J. H. and his newly wedded wife, took charge of the old Lenocker homestead, and during their occupancy, the old time hospitable home lost none of its well earned reputation. Recently, they too moved to Dexter, in the hope that Mrs. Lenocker might regain her health. This death was like unexpected, her last illness lasting but a few days.

A number of Winterset people attended the funeral last Monday. The services were conducted by Rev. Henry Wallace, assisted by the local ministers of Dexter.

The immediate members of the Lenocker family are as follows: Mary, Reuben, France, deceased; Lizzie, now, Mrs. Fred Fitting; Jacob, Charles, Guy and Rena, now Mrs. Ray Mount.
