Page 3Died, of catarrhal pneumonia, Feb. 1st, at her home in Stuart, Myrtle May Duff, daughter of Mrs. Wm. Duff.
She was born in Madison county, Ia., April 20th, 1872; removed to Stuart with her parents in 1881, where she has since lived. The deceased had worked at the LOCOMOTIVE and other offices in Stuart for several years, off and on, in the capacity of compositor, her health not permitting her to work steadily at the case. A week ago Monday she went home from this office, complaining of not feeling well. Little was it thought at that time, by those in the office that she would no more pick up the stick and rule. But thus has it been decreed by One wiser than all. Myrtle was a modest, quiet, lovable girl; one whose ways drew friends about her. In her death a mother is for the second time within a few months bowed down with grief, and as near friends mingle their tears with her whose soul is burdened with this double sorrow, the entire community extends its sympathy. The body was taken to Earlham this morning for interment.
Transcriber's note: Typed as printed in the Stuart Locomotive. Birth date is different on gravestone at Worthington cemetery, Madison county, Iowa.
