Funeral services were held Saturday, May 15th from the Trinity Lutheran Church near Van Meter for Mrs. Mary Catherine Boos. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery.

Mary Catherine Boos was born at Montgomery, Minnesota September 11, 1892, the daughter of Frank and Catherine Janda and passed away suddenly May 12th when she collapsed in the Van Meter post office. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Boos was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Van Meter, Iowa. She was baptized in infancy and became a member of Trinity Lutheran after her marriage. She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran ladies aid and held membership in the Van Meter Women’s Club, Home Study Club and the Priscilla Club.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Boos at Des Moines September 18, 1912. To this union four children were born, Mrs. Esther Radke of Van Meter, Mrs. ----- Brittain of Kamrar, Iowa, Mrs. Lucille Fisher of Van Meter and Robert Boos of Des Moines.

Since their marriage she and her husband lived in Madison and Dallas counties with the exception of a few years when they resided in Des Moines.

Mrs. Boos is survived by her husband, four children, three sisters, a brother, fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
