Macksburg News

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jorgensen and daughters of Alta, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hall and daughters of Ames were called her by the death of their mother, Mrs. Frank Doty. They all returned home on Monday evening except Mrs. Hall who remained with her brother.

Mrs. Frank Doty Died March 9th

Emma Elisebeth (Pyle) Doty died Friday, March 9, at the Creston hospital following an illness of several months, at the age of 67. She was born in Washington county, Kansas May 4, 1877, but moved to Madison county with her parents when she was three months old, and has been a resident ever since. She was the daughter of Snyder and Mary Pyle, and attended the Macksburg public school. She was a member of the Macksburg Baptist church and the Women’s Relief Corps.

On August 24, 1898, she was united in marriage to Frank Doty of Macksburg and to this union were born three daughters and two sons, the sons preceding their mother in death. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Lois Jorgensen of Alta, Iowa, Mary Hall of Ames and Lt. Irene Doty of the Army Nurses Corps.

Services were held at the Methodist church in Macksburg, Sunday, March 11. Rev. Englund and Thompson of Lorimor were in charge of the services. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
