Alice Mae McDonald, a housewife and lifetime resident of Madison County, died Wednesday, August 8, 1973 at her home near Winterset. She was 61 years of age.

Mrs. McDonald was born May 30, 1912 in Douglas Township of Madison County, the daughter of William and Ida Wermersen Comp. She was married to Marion McDonald January 24, 1943 in Winterset.

Affiliated with the Methodist Church, Mrs. McDonald retained membership in the United Methodist Church of Oak Grove.

Surviving Mrs. McDonald are her husband, Marion of Winterset; three children, Judy, Richard and Robert McDonald, all of Winterset; and three grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother, Russell Comp of Winterset; and her mother, Mrs. Ida Comp, also of Winterset. Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her father and two brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. McDonald were conducted Saturday, August 11 at 2 p.m. from the First United Methodist church in Winterset, the Rev. Paul Bousfield presiding. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
