Carol Lee (Ross) Nahas, 80, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Fountain West Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Saturday, October 15th at Windsor United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday at the Iles Westover Chapel.
Carol was born May 18, 1936 in Winterset to John Wesley and Lorene (Graham) Ross. She was a graduate of Macksburg High School. In 1963 Carol married Richard Nahas and the family made their home in Des Moines. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service and the Veterans Administration before retiring in the early 1990's. Carol was an avid gardener and enjoyed her deck in the mornings with her cat, Holly, and a cup of coffee.
Survivors include her children: Rick (Linda) and John; grandsons: Logan and Alec all of Des Moines; brothers: Don (Anne) Ross of Urbandale, Ed (Mary Ellen) Ross of California; many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa in 1977 and her husband, Richard in 2009.
