Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Martensdale Thursday afternoon for Steven Earl Corning, the four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Corning, of Wick. Burial was made in the Blair Chapel cemetery.

The boy's death occurred Tuesday at the Blank Memorial hospital in Des Moines where he had been taken following a sudden attack of meningitis. The Corning family formerly resided in this vicinity having occupied the Peterson farm southeast of town, last year.
