YOUNG WOMAN TAKES OWN LIFE

Milo Resident Was Visiting Relatives at Truro Thursday

Mrs. Clarence E. Garmon of Milo took her own life by hanging last Thursday at the home of her husband’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Garmon of near Truro, where she had been visiting.

Investigating officers were advised that Mrs. Garmon had been under psychiatric care for several years. Her death occurred about 11:30 a.m. in the barn at the Garmon place. The body was discovered by Mrs. John Garmon. A physician was summoned immediately from Truro, but the victim was already dead when he arrived.

Mrs. Garmon was 33 years of age. She was the former Frances Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Miller of Springfield, Ill. She was born in Springfield, Sept. 20, 1923.

She was married to Clarence E. Garmon on April 12, 1943, at Los Angeles. They lived in California for nearly five years. For the past three years their home had been at Milo.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, John, aged 13, and a daughter, Linda Lee, aged 10; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Miller of Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Glenna Dell Bozarth of Sylmar, Calif., and Mrs. Verna M. Hodge of Indianola; and three brothers, Gilbert Miller of Bellville, Ill., Guy Miller of Canoga Park, Calif., and Glenn Miller, Jr., of Pacoma, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Assembly of God church at Indianola in charge of the Rev. C. R. Peters of Springfield. Burial was made in the Blair Chapel cemetery.
