Mrs. Ida Best, 82, the daughter of George and Joan Smith was born in Madison county. She was married to Edd Best in 1901, four children were born to them of whom only one son, George now survives. Two died in infancy and Earl passed away when he was a small boy. Mr. Best passed away 20 years ago.

Mrs. Best passed away at the Horton nursing home Wednesday January 30 in Winterset, after an illness of some time. Funeral services were held at the Fisher funeral home in Van Meter Saturday with burial at the Chapel cemetery.
