Greg Ayers, 60, died Friday in Des Moines. Visitation will be Monday, August 15th, at the St. Charles Parish Church from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be 10:AM, Tuesday at the St. Charles Parish Church with burial following in the St. Charles Cemetery.
Greg is survived by his wife, Roni, children,Gabe Ayers,Angela (Charles) Joynes, Robert Vallejo, mother Shirley Keeney, 5 grandchildren, brothers Victor (Charlotte) Ayers, Ryan (Heather) Keeney, sister, Cindy Gray.
Memorials directed to family to be decided later.

Gregory Ayers, 60, of St. Charles died Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Services were held at St. Charles Parish Church Tuesday, Aug. 16, with Pastor Nick Groves officiating. Interment was in the St. Charles Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family for a tribute to be decided at a later date.
Gregory John Ayers, son of John Mart Ayers and Shirley (Downs) Ayers Keeney was born Sept. 22, 1955, in Winterset. Greg grew up in St. Charles and graduated from I-35 High School. He drove a truck over the road for many years. He lived with his grandparents and took care of them. He was united in marriage to Rhonda (Roni) Alexander on Sept. 23, 1995. They have made their home in St. Charles and are very active members of the St. Charles Parish Church. Greg was a member of the St. Charles Volunteer Fire Department, was one of the original six EMTs on the department, and served as Fire Chief for many years. Greg was a member of the St. Charles Lions Club and the St. Charles Old Settlers Committee.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Mart Ayers; and sister, Julie Ayers.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda “Roni” Ayers of St. Charles; mother, Shirley Keeney of Prole; children, Gabriel John Ayers of Altoona, Angela Marie (Charles) Joynes of Altoona and Robert James Vallejo of Des Moines; five grandchildren; mother-in-law, Bernie Alexander; sister-in-law, Judy Alexander; brothers, Victor (Charlotte) Ayers of Carlisle and brother, Ryan (Heather) Keeney of Norwalk; sister, Cindy Gray; and several other relatives and friends.
