Last week the body of an old lady named Hatch was brought in from the country and buried in our city cemetery. Few about town knew of the matter or who she was. She was the landlady of the old Hatch House of early fame in this place. It stood on the corner west of the Bevington block, where a portion of the stone foundation is still to be seen, to attest to how soon the pioneers of a country may be forgotten by those for whom they labored to build up the town and county.
