Mrs. A. B. Gray, 703 Crawford street, passed away at her home this morning about 11 a.m. Mrs. Gray, had been ill for the past two weeks at her home. Her husband and one son, preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Miss Mabel Gray, teacher at Bryant school, who made her home with her mother, Mrs. Eva Peterson of Boone, and Mrs. Laura Manny of Des Moines.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

SERVICES FOR AMELIA GRAY

The Memorial service for the late Amelia Gray was held at the First Methodist church in Boone, Saturday, October 20, 1945, at 2 p. m., with Dr. E. A. Briggs and Dr. W. Frank Lister in charge. Mrs. Irene Friedley and Mrs. Elsa Berglund, accompanied by Mrs. Ollivette McIntyre, sand “In the Garden,” and “After.”

Dr. Lister read the 90th Psalm, and spoke briefly concerning Mrs. Gray’s life. She had devoted her life to her family, and had prepared herself for teaching both in the public schools and in church schools, and had joined the Methodist church when she was a child. Dr. Briggs spoke from the 17th chapter of John, the third verse, “And This Is Life Eternal.”

Pallbearers were Oscar and Simon Peterson, Frank Rosengreen, Noble Younggren, J. D. Kellogg and G. A. Johnson. Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Ollie Rocho, Misses Kate Harner and Laila Bauman, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marshall, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Littrell.

Mrs. Gray was a member of the First Methodist church, Berean Sunday school class, Women’s Relief Corp, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Rebekah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin B. Gray, and only son, Clarion Clyde. She leaves to mourn her passing, three daughters, Mrs. Laura Manny, Mrs. Eva Peterson and Miss Mable Gray; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Mackey, Kent, Wash., five grandchildren, Mildred Gray of Washington, D. C. Evelyn and Lois Manny, and many other relatives and friends.
