WEHRKAMP SERVICE HELD HERE SEPT. 23

Funeral services for Albert H. Wehrkamp whose death occurred Sept. 17 at West Los Angeles, Calif., were held Sept. 23 from Trinity Lutheran church in Jefferson township. The Rev. C. G. Meyer conducted the services. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wehrkamp was born in Jefferson township March 4, 1892, a son of Henry and Johanna Wehrkamp. His parents died when he was a small boy and he was reared in the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerhart Storck.

He was a veteran of 18 months service in the U. S. Army during World War I. Much of his service was spent overseas.

He was married in 1926 to Alice B. Doak of Van Meter. They first made their home in Van Meter, later moved to a farm in Jefferson township. But he had been injured by poison gas during the war in France, and his health soon failed. With his wife, he moved to California. A short while later, he entered a Veterans hospital there, remaining as a patient there for many years, until his death.

Mrs. Wehrkamp had died last April. His nearest surviving relative is a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Brooker of Van Meter.
