Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic church here on last Friday for a pioneer resident of Lee township, Miss Johanna McCarty, 97, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Clear View nursing home in Des Moines. Burial was in the family plot at St. Patricks.

Miss McCarty, who has been in Des Moines the past year when she left the farm, is survived by one brother Timothy (Tade) McCarty also of Des Moines.
