WAUKEE RESIDENT DIES AT WINTERSET

James E. Hubbard of Waukee died at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset, Saturday, Dec. 19.

Mr. Hubbard had been a patient at the hospital for a week prior to his death.

Rites For James Hubbard

Rites for James Hubbard who passed away Dec. 19th at the Madison County Memorial hospital at Winterset were held Monday at 2 p.m., Dec. 21st. The funeral services were held at the Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter.

Rev. A. Beuerman, pastor of the Evangelical U.B. church was the minister who officiated. Robert G. Fisher was soloist with Mrs. Mary Feltner pianist. The casket bearers were L. H. Riley, Herman Jensen, James Shediwy, Claud Stump, Lee Palmer and Max Riley. Interment was in the U.B. cemetery at North River. Mr. Hubbard formerly lived in DeSoto a number of years and had many friends here.

James Ernest Hubbard, son of Emile and John Hubbard was born Dec. 15, 1884, on a farm in Madison county and passed away at the Winterset hospital on Dec. 19, 1953 at the age of 69 years and four days, following an illness of two years.

He was united in marriage to Georgia Brown on Sept. 24, 1913 and to this union ten children were born. With the exception of 12 years spent in Minnesota, all of his life was spent in the North Madison county and South Dallas County communities.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Georgia, four daughters, Helen Hodson of Redfield; Faye Kearney of Wilton Junction; Gladys Winchester, of Bloomfield, Mo.; Velma Chapman of Adel; five sons, Floyd of Norwalk; Herbert of DeSoto; David and John of Davenport; Melvin of Waukee; 25 grandchildren; two sisters, four brothers and many other relatives and friends. A son Raymond preceded him in death. He was a kind and loving father.
