CHESTER ALLEN DIES AT WEST DES MOINES

Chester L. Allen, a former St. Charles resident, died Thursday, May 21, at his home in West Des Moines. He was 63 years of age and had been in ill health for several years.

Mr. Allen was born in Madison county, near Peru, Sept. 19, 1889. He was married Oct. 19, 1912, to Cora Lenora Sanders who survives.

In addition to his wife he leaves five children, Mrs. Thelma Bradshaw of Martensdale, Ronald Allen of Carlisle, Mrs. Helen Thomlinson of West Des Moines, Mrs. Mildred Miller of St. Marys, and Donald Allen of Fort Des Moines.

He also leaves 15 grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Pearl Perry, Mrs. Elsie Kirk, Mrs. Cecil Osborn, Mrs. Edith Graham, and Mrs. Leone Shelly; and two brothers Gail and Vernon Allen.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the St. Charles Methodist church conducted by the Rev. Eldon Haworth. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
