Wanda Hawker, 75, of Hamburg formerly of Greenfield died Friday, May 13, 2016 at The Ambassador-Sidney in Sidney, IA. There are no public services scheduled at this time. Memorials are to be determined. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com .
Wanda Mae Hawker, daughter of Elmer Frank and Eva I. (Jones) Phillips, was born February 14, 1941 in Winterset, Ia. Wanda attended Cedar Grand River #2 and Greenfield Schools.
On July 28, 1957 Wanda was united in marriage to Jerry Dale Hawker in Greenfield, Ia at the Methodist Church. They settled in the Muscatine for 10 years where she was an active homemaker, followed by a brief stay in Colorado. They moved to Shreveport, La. and later to Bossier City, La for a total of 30 years where they owned and operated Me-Ma's Junktiques in both locations before moving back to Winterset inn 1998 and to Greenfield in 2007. Wanda finally moved to Hamburg, Ia. in 2013.
Wanda has been a member of Nazerine Church in Muscatine and Faith Temple Assembly of God in Bossier City, and most recently a member of the Nazerine Church in Winterset. She also served as a Cub Scout den Mother and was active in a C.B. Radio Club
Wanda is survived by a daughter Eva (husband John) Seiver of Hamburg, Ia.; a half-brother Bob (wife Loretta) Grasty of Greenfield, Ia.; a nephew David Grasty on Greenfield, Ia.; a great-nephew Matt Grasty of Greenfield; two grandchildren, Alexis Hawker of Winterset and Joshua (wife Julie) Libertore of Blackfoot, Idaho and six great-grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry and son Danny in 2010.
