St. Charles---(Special)---

Mrs. Ann Collins, 87, a highly respected citizen of this community, passed away at her home here Thursday night after a long period of ill health, following a stroke four years ago. She was a member of an old pioneer family, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Black having settled in South township many years ago. She was one of ten children, four boys and six girls, with Mrs. Nettie Steele of Kansas now the only living member.

Of Mrs. Collins’ immediate family, she is survived by two sons, Wilkie of Lorimor and Kyle, of Des Moines, two daughters, Mrs. Lots Husted of Knoxville and Mrs. Dawn Johnston of St. Charles, another son, Roy passing away many years ago; also grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her funeral was held at the Christian church in St. Charles Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Hile of Des Moines in charge, and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery beside her husband who preceded her in death more than 40 years ago.
