Was Member of Well-Known Family in Madison County
Mrs. Lillie B. Niblo of Winterset, member of a well known family in Madison county died at her home here Monday, Sept. 15. She was 75 years of age.
Mrs. Niblo was a life-long resident of the county. She was born in Douglas township, June 13, 1872, daughter of Francis Marion and Harriett Templeman Bruce. On Dec. 27, 1892, she was married to Thomas Gregory Niblo, whose death occurred in 1936. Their married life was spent on a farm in Jackson townhip, until they moved into Winterset in 1922 into the home on West Jefferson, which had since been her home.
Mrs. Niblo was a member of the West Star Methodist church for many years, transferring to the Winterset Methodist church upon moving to town. She was affiliated with the Woman’s Relief corps, the W. C. T. U., and was active in Red Cross work here.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Annie M. Niblo of Winterset, Della E. Bruce of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Pearl Sage of Ogilivia, Minn.; a brother, R. W. Bruce of Amarillo, Tex. Two brothers have preceded her in death, Frank Bruce in August, 1946, and Ed Bruce in June 1947.
Funeral services were held this Wednesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Reed Kessler. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
