Peru Items

Lyle Emerson, formerly of Peru passed away at a hospital in Newton Sunday evening, Jan 19, following a short illness. He was 54 years of age. Graveside services were held at the Peru cemetery Thursday afternoon, with the Rev. J. A. E. Cunningham of Winterset in charge.

Lyle was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Emerson and spent most of his life in this community. He had lived in Newton for 15 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wm. Sumpter of Hutchison, Kan., a son Jack of Azusa, Calif., three grandchildren and his father, Ralph Emerson of Newton.
