January 1935Arvin Marchel Passes Away at Wenatchee
Arvin A. Marchel, who made his home in Chelan, passed away Saturday at a Wenatchee hospital after an illness of several weeks.
The deceased came to Chelan about four years ago from Wenatchee, where he had resided for 19 years. He came west from Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and was born in Peru, Iowa, February 4, 1860, being 74 years of age.
He was united in marriage to Libby Cuett, May 19, 1880, in Watson, Missouri. Two years later they moved to Rice county, Kansas, and lived there until 1900, then they moved to Barber county, Kansas.
To this union were born nine children. Mrs. Libby Marchel and five children preceeded him in death.
He was untied in marriage to Mrs. Anna McCracken April 16, 1920. They moved to Chelan four years ago, where they have resided until the present time.
He is survived by his widow, Anna Marchel; two sons, Ellis of Spokane and Walter of Chelan: two daughters, Mrs. Laura Barnett of Leavenworth and Mrs. Ross McDonald of Orondo; one brother, Segal of Peru, Iowa; two sisters, Josie Travis of Ensign, Kansas, and Mr. C. O. Benedict of Wenatchee, 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
