OBITUARY - CHARLEY BOSTON

Charley T. Boston was born near St. Charles, Iowa, on July 20, 1866, and departed this life June 28, 1927 near Inkom, Idaho.

He came to Oklahoma 36 years ago and settled on a claim nine miles west of El Reno. Later with his family he moved to near Hinton, Okla., where they lived for a number of years.

The past ten or more years he has made El Reno his home and was employed by the Rock Island Railroad.

On October 7, 1897 he was married to Miss Leila Trotter, who survives him. To this union were born two children, a daughter Muriel, who preceded her father in death dying March 7, 1925, leaving a kind and loving husband, Edwin Palmer, who lives at El Reno; and the son, Charles William who lives at El Reno, and is employed by the Rock Island.

Also surviving the deceased are three sisters, and four brothers, deceased being the oldest of eight children and he is the first one to die of the eight. The others are Mrs. Mollie Smith of Andarko, Okla.; Mrs. Chas. Smith, of Boulder, Colo.; Mrs. Otis Rader of Hinton, Okla.; Henry C. Boston of Kansas City, Missouri; Joe and John Boston of Hinton, Okla.; and Will of the Philippine Islands.

Charley Boston was a highly respected citizen and well liked by everyone who he came in contact with. He came to his tragic death at the hands of a desperate outlaw. Mr. Boston had only recently gone to Idaho and while there but a short time was deputized to assist the sheriff on the day the tragedy occurred.

Funeral services for Mr. Boston were conducted at the Hinton Methodist church on Friday afternoon by Rev. Dan Smith, of Enid, pastor of the Hinton Christian church, and were attended by a large congregation of sorrowed relatives and friends. Interment followed in Hinton cemetery. The funeral was under the direction of the J. C. Corder Funeral Home. As stated in last week's Record the body reached here Thursday morning from Pocatello, Idaho.
