Fred G. Stayton Dies in California

Fred G. Stayton, former St. Charles resident, died Saturday, September 14 in a Santa Monica, California hospital at the age of sixty-six years.

Mr. Stayton was born in Colorado, but spent most of his early years in St. Charles, Iowa, graduating from the St. Charles High School. He was married to Blanche Lyon, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Lyon.

He assisted his father, the late J. L. Stayton, in his store in St. Charles and for a time was engaged in farming. About twenty years ago the family moved to Santa Monica, Calif., where they have since made their home.

Mr. Stayton was a member of Model Lodge No. 315, A. F. & A. M. of St Charles.

Surviving are his wife Blanche, one son, Jack, one daughter, Joan; four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Leta Frazer of Pasadena, Calif.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 16 from Moeller, Mercy and Moeller's Funeral Home with interment in Englewood cemetery.
