Funeral Services For Mrs Stewart Held At Alfalfa.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sam Stewart, a pioneer resident of the Alfalfa and Carnegie communities, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Alfalfa Baptist church with rev. Jimmy Riddlespurger, Carnegie Pentecostal Holiness pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Alfalfa cemetery.

Mrs. Stewart died Wednesday, May 25, at Carmen, Okla., after being in failing health for several years.

Amanda Beall was born August 19, 1882, at Winterset, Iowa. She was married to Sam J. Stewart in Iowa on January 10, 1901. They came to Oklahoma the year of their marriage and homesteaded on a farm near Alfalfa where they lived until moving to Carnegie in March 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Emery, and a daughter, Edith.

She had been a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church in Carnegie for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Warren Whitley, and a son, Glenn Stewart, of Fresno, Calif.; a foster son, Asa Carr of Cherokee, Okla.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Out-of-town relatives here for the services included Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stewart and Mrs. Whitley of Fresno, Leroy Stewart of Fort Worth, Mrs. R.D. McLaughlin of Shawnee, Mrs. Fay Stark, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pelter and Asa Carr, all of Cherokee, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Beal of Oklahoma City, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beall of Washita.
