Larry “Buck” McKeever, 72, of Sac City, died Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. A celebration of life service will begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening. Memorials may be made to Larry’s family.
Larry Keith McKeever, son of Oliver and Doris (Travis) McKeever, was born October 3, 1943 in Winterset, Iowa. Larry attended the Peru School System. He was united in marriage with Su Britt on January 22, 1977 in Princeton, Missouri. One daughter, Paula, was born to this union. They lived in Peru until 1999, when they moved to Des Moines. The couple recently moved to Sac City to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.
Larry delivered appliances for O’Callaghan’s for over 19 years. He never met a stranger and enjoyed having conversations with anyone who would listen. Larry had a true passion for trains. He enjoyed watching them, listening to them, and collecting pictures and figurines. Above all else, Larry cherished the time he was able to spend with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Su McKeever of Sac City; daughter, Paula (Bradley Mathews) McKeever of Rockwell City; grandchildren, Aaron Rupe, Brock McKeever, Carson McKeever, Kaylene McKeever; brothers, Monty (Betty) McKeever of Winterset, Jerry (June) McKeever of Winterset, Robert (Debbie) McKeever of Winterset; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
