Ida Mae Erickson 90 passed away on Sunday September 20, 2015 at the Urbandale Health Care Center.Visitation will be held from 6-8- pm Tuesday September, 22, 2015 at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid, IA. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery Van Meter.
Ida was born in Madison County, IA to Curtis, and Della (Quick) Howell on May 23, 1925 she graduated from Patterson High School, and has lived in Ankeny, and Madrid most of her life. Ida graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1947, and was a registered Nurse for many years, her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, knitting, making pottery, and jewelry, painting, she was an avid bridge player, and reader.
Ida is survived by a son Phil (Linda) Erickson, two grandsons Bill (Mary Beth) Erickson, Brad (Danyal) Erickson, 8 great grandchildren, Hannah Erickson, Maddie Erickson, Jacob Madden, Elizabeth Madden, Chase Erickson, Hunter Erickson,Lexi Erickson, Cody Mikesell. Two sisters Phyllis Wittrup, and RoseAnn (Gene) Schmaltz, one brother Curtis (Terry) Howell, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Ida is preceded in death by her Husband Art and her parents. Memorials may be directed to the Madrid Library. -
