Steve Chopard, 59, was born July 4, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Harry and Doris (Porter) Chopard. He passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack Saturday, September 5, 2015.
For over 30 years, Steve proudly served his community as a Firefighter for the city of Des Moines. He also owned Artcraft Printing for over 20 years.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sue Chopard; sons, Steve (Stacey) Chopard, Jr., Scott Chopard and Sam Chopard; grandchildren, Silas and Sophia Chopard; siblings, Michelle Reed and Melinda LeFleur; and other loving relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines with family greeting friends from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Blair Chapel Cemetery in St. Charles.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Des Moines Fire Department Honor Guard or the National Wild Turkey Federation in loving memory of Steve.
