FRANK KIRK, New Virginia

Frank Kirk, son of Clayton Orville Kirk and Bessie Irene (Shaw) Kirk was born December 3, 1935 in Madison County, Iowa and passed from this life Wednesday, August 26, 2015, surrounded by his family at his home near New Virginia Iowa, at 79 years of age.

Frank received his education in country school near Peru and Murray. He graduated from Truro High School. Frank served his country in the U.S. Army following the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Algreen on September 27, 1958 at Galesburg, Illinois and they were blessed with daughter, Terry and son, Vance. They lived on various farms in the Peru, Murray and Lorimor area before moving to his present farm approximately 45 years ago.

Frank enjoyed being on the farm. He restored old John Deere tractors and the occasional Farmall. He also enjoyed his gun collection. He loved using the blade on the 4020, he was the best pit-packer around. He always enjoyed the family get togethers. He was a member of New Virginia American Legion, NRA, former member of the I-35 School Board, Fern Lodge #558 of Lorimor, Iowa, and Osceola Eagles Lodge Aerie #3495.

Those relatives who preceded Frank in death were his parents; wife, Shirley Kirk; son, Vance Shaw Kirk; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory; daughter, Terry (Roland) Garner of New Virginia, IA, Grandchildren, Shara (Josh) Holderness of Des Moines, IA, Levi (Jodi) Garner of New Virginia, IA, nephew, Aaron (Julie) Hoppock of New Virginia, IA, Great-Grandchildren, Stella Holderness, Cash Holderness, Cannon Garner, Frankie Garner, great nephew, Brady (Kaitlin) Hoppock, great great niece, Kalliope Hoppock, special friend, June Phillips of New Virginia, IA, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Memorials may be directed to his family to be decided on at a later date.
