Mrs. H. N. SHAW DIES IN MICHIGAN

A telegram Saturday night ------ news of Mrs. H. N. Shaw at Frankfort, Michigan, a summer resort on the upper peninsula. Mr. Shaw left at once, driving to Des Moines.

Telegram later stated that Mrs. Shaw had died at eight o'clock that evening. Her death was caused by a stroke of paralysis that occurred at four o'clock, rendering her unconscious until the end came four hours later.

Mrs. Shaw left Winterset in early July to spend the summer with her sister, Mrs. Linquist at Frankfort, Michigan where Mr. and Mrs. Linquist have a summer home. She had been in feeble health for several years and on this account her three adopted children remained at home. The funeral was to have occurred at Grundy Center Wednesday but was postponed probably on account of the difficulty of traveling after the destructive storms Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Shaw had lived in Winterset for many years and took an active part in the city's social life and public welfare. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and for several years was at the head of the Campfire which she organized. Her death caused profound sorrow to a large circle of friends.
