DOROTHY I. WOOSLEY, Des Moines,

Dorothy I. Woosley, 93, passed away in her sleep at home on Friday, August 21, 2015. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 5-7:00 p.m., at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home. Cremation rites will follow the visitation and private burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Creston, Iowa.

Dorothy was born to Grover and Elsie Weimer on September 22, 1922 in Lexington, Nebraska. Her family then moved to a farm between Winterset and Creston where she met Kenneth Woosley and they were married on September 17, 1943. They lived in both Union and Polk counties.

Dorothy worked in food service and as a transporter at Iowa Lutheran Hospital for 23 years. She retired in 1985. She enjoyed reading and her flowers.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; and a sister, Evelyn Woosley.

She is survived by her two nieces, Sheryl and her husband Keith Miller and Pamela and her husband Ronald Backstrom; two great nieces and two great nephews and many great great nieces and nephews.

Dorothy will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy Hospice.
